As a Power and Frequency Modeling Architect within our central methodology team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing power and timing targets and creating their corresponding models for our cutting-edge energy efficient high-performance cores, graphics, and machine intelligence chips. This team collaborates across AMD, working on projects ranging from low power APUs to the world's most powerful supercomputers.\r\nTHE PERSON\r\nIn this multifaceted role, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple divisions to define frequency and power targets and drive the modeling throughout the project lifecycle. We're looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a curiosity to unravel complex issues to achieve outstanding results!\r\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nResponsibilities may include a subset of the following topics\r\n\r\nGenerate detailed frequency vs power models in collaboration with design, technology, and post-silicon teams.\r\nWork with SOC teams to meet product targets pre- and post-silicon for performance at power and/or power at performance.\r\nProvide feedback and direction to IP teams to drive power and timing optimization efforts and design tradeoffs throughout the project.\r\nCome up with bottoms-up estimate and top-down power and frequency targets for new IPs and subsystems.\r\n\r\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\r\nExpertise in these topics would be a plus\r\n\r\nExperience in fostering collaboration with team members within and outside the organization across multiple sites.\r\nStrong data analysis skills and proficiency in Excel and Python.\r\nFamiliarity with the balance between design, frequency, and power.\r\nKnowledge of wafer fabrication technologies and libraries and their respective trade-offs.\r\nProficiency in silicon test methodologies.\r\n\r\nACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nDesirable candidates have an MS/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering\r\nLOCATION\r\nAustin, TX\r\nThis role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.\r\nLI-DD3\r\nLI-HYBRID\r\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\r\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
