Apparel Design & Concept Intern

FIGS is seeking a Apparel Design & Concept Intern to support the design team across concept development, product creation, and brand storytelling. This 12-week internship offers hands-on experience working alongside the Design team to bring innovative, functional product to life for healthcare professionals. As an intern, you will contribute to the design process through research, visual development, and team support - gaining exposure to how FIGS builds product from concept through execution. This is an opportunity to build foundational skills, explore different areas of design, and learn within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in creating design boards, presentations, and visual assets (Illustrator, Miro)Support development of seasonal concept work and storytelling materialsContribute to sketching, CADs, and early-stage design explorationAssist in the development and organization of trim, branding, and labeling conceptsSupport building and maintaining construction and design reference librariesHelp track and organize inspiration, materials, and design inputs across categoriesSupport in trend and market research to support concept and product developmentGather and organize visual references, materials, and ideas to inform seasonal directionHelp organize design racks, samples, and seasonal materialsWhat You’ll GainHands-on experience supporting the design process from concept through developmentExposure to multiple categories, including Scrubwear, Outerwear, and lifestyle productUnderstanding of how brand DNA translates into product, trim, and constructionOpportunity to learn from and collaborate with experienced design leadersInsight into potential career paths within design at FIGSRequirementsCurrently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or a related fieldAvailable to commit to a 12-week internship (approx. 20 hours per week)Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator required); Miro a plusStrong interest in apparel design, product development, and brand buildingAbility to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentOther Must HavesStrong collaboration and communication skills with a team-first mindsetPositive, curious, and eager to learn; brings energy to the teamDetail-oriented with a proactive, get-it-done approachPassion for thoughtful, functional design that elevates healthcare professionalsFIGS Compensation And BenefitsPay RangeAt FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's hourly range is between $18 and $20. Actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
