Senior Extrusion & Coating Coordinator

Location: Franklin Park, IL Position: Senior Extrusion & Coating Coordinator Hiring Manager: Jake Polich Hours: 3rd shift – 10pm – 6amRate: $42.31/hrNight Shift Differential: $1.25/hrWhat You’ll Be DoingWhile reporting to the Extrusion Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient flow of materials and information within our production in Extrusion & Coating Department in a safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of all department employees in the plant during the night shift hours. Your role will involve various aspects of the manufacturing process such as safety, machine reliability, quality assurance, production efficiency, continuous improvement, material handling and cost performance. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.Day-to-day Responsibilities Will IncludeCoordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, vacation scheduling, hourly attendance, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.Teach and coach the safety process and best manufacturing practices for assigned shift.Attend production meetings and audit production running checks and process sheets in Infinity.Ensure items produced meet quality standards by conducting QA testing, documenting results and correcting process or material issues when defects are identified.Support Quality initiatives based on customer specifications and Customer Experience Pillar.Direct shift in continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using tools such as GPS and KPI’s.Create and support safety protocols as well as incident reporting, safety hour walks, OPLs and presentations.Provide direction, training, and development of hourly employees on assigned shift as well as counseling or discipline as needed.Verify and set machine parameters according to established process sheets.Ensure extrusion lines have proper material according to production order.Oversee the operation of extrusion, automation and auxiliary equipment.Provide leadership with start-up processes on the lines, updates in pre-shift meetings.Follow procedures for daily, weekly machine inspection, preventative maintenance. Address issues with manager and maintenance staff.Assist or coach lead technicians for troubleshooting and running machine equipment.Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.Follow GMPs regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee. Follow product safety, food safety and quality standards.Practice safe work habits and follow all general safety procedures, such as Energy Isolation, Hazard Communication, PPE.
