Through a portfolio of projects focused on developing leadership within communities, we support those closest to challenges to take deliberate actions based in design thinking approach, backed by data analysis, grounded in a practice of collective impact, and driven by a commitment to racial equity.\r\nEducation and Experience Requirements\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree in data science, computer science, economics, or similar field.\r\nHands-on experience in data manipulation and analysis.\r\nExperience in creating data visualizations.\r\nExposure to working with large datasets within the context of public policy or social services.\r\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\r\nProficiency with R.\r\nFamiliarity with AWS GovCloud.\r\nPreferred Competencies\r\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.\r\nProven record of aligning external stakeholder needs with high quality deliverables.\r\nExcellent organization skills and attention to detail, especially with regards to data.\r\nProfessional demeanor including tact, discretion, and a customer-service oriented approach.\r\nProven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines, and possession of a self-motivated disposition.\r\nCritical thinking skills and identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes to achieve key objectives.\r\nStrong data skills, including proven ability to produce impactful insights with little direction.\r\nWork both independently and successfully as a member of a team.\r\nAdditional Notes\r\nThis position is fully remote with occasional travel required for in-person meetings as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Our team is primarily based out of Chicago.\r\nRole and Responsibilities\r\nConduct and deliver impactful data analyses to child welfare system leaders, including state directors, NGO executives, and program staff.\r\nPrepare written reports, decks, and related documentation that translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for program and policy improvement.\r\nConduct literature reviews, informational interviews, and exploratory data analysis to uncover causes of challenges in child welfare systems.\r\nTransform complex datasets into analyzable formats using tools like R and Python.\r\nWrite transparent and maintainable code using version control systems like Git.\r\nApply statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.\r\nDevelop and present data visualizations utilizing appropriate statistical packages.\r\nWork closely with colleagues and external partners to share insights, present findings, and advance solutions.\r\nMaintain technical and administrative support for a research project.\r\nAnalyze and maintain data. Conduct literature reviews.
