Schedule and process product movements through computer database. Monitor rates, pressures, and answer phone calls while instructing field operators on movements.\nResponsibilities:\nOperates pipeline facilities from the control center.\nOperate multiple pipelines at the same time.\nCoordinates safe and efficient transportation of refined petroleum products and specialty chemicals.\nMust be able to recognize abnormal operations and react accordingly in a short period.\nMonitors and controls pipeline operations through SCADA system.\nMonitor, detect, and respond to abnormal pipeline conditions.\nCommunicate emergency conditions quickly and calmly.\nDetermine accurate time of pipeline events (pumping, deliveries, strips, etc) by reviewing batch listings and schedules.\nUpdate pipeline schedulers throughout duration of shift.\nResponsible for communicating critical information to field operators.\nReceive and respond to calls/emails from customers.\nScheduler barge, vessel and pipeline nominations.\nTrain other in operational task\nMust be able to accurately account for our customer’s inventories\nWork with maintenance, field operations, and contractors for troubleshooting purposes\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nEducation:\nAssociate’s degree, Certification in Process Control, or 3 years equivalent work experience\nAttributes listed below are highly desirable:\nFour-year degree with any discipline from accredited college or university or\nHonorable discharge US military, any branch\n\nExperience/Specific Knowledge:\nAttributes listed below are highly desirable:\nThree years terminal Operations/Maintenance experience, or\nFive years of general industry experience\n\nCertifications, Licenses, Registrations:\nMust be able to pass Operation Qualification test after training.\nThe successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed\n\nCompetencies, Skills, and Abilities:\nMust be competent, courteous, accurate, and thorough in dealing with external and internal customers.\nMust be able to acknowledge and react to colors on color graphic displays on computer control system.\nMust be able to acknowledge and react to various audible instructions, alarms, or other forms of communication.\nMust be able to respond to several different situations simultaneously (multi-task) with confidence and composure.\nTyping, calculator, and mathematical skills needed. Good communications skills are required. Problem recognition and problem-solving skills are essential. General accounting or bookkeeping experience a plus.\nMust have strong computer skills and proficiency with PC software i.e.: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and databases.\nMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail and follow work rules.\nMust be able to communicate effectively via radio, telephone and various other forms of communication.\nProven ability to take initiative, work highly independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.\nWill be on-call and must respond to call outs, during and after regular business and non-working hours including after dark hours, for work as may be required, assigned, scheduled and as dictated by operations.\nMust be willing to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operations.\n\nPhysical/Working Conditions:\nThe majority of the times indoor with short field walk around to monitor equipment status.\nMust be able to work a 12 hour rotating shift\nDaily commute should not exceed one hour each direction\nMust be able to lift 40 lbs\nThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
