Position Summary603 Manufacturing is growing, and we are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven NPI / Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on turning complex, high-reliability builds into clean, repeatable, audit-ready processes. This role is especially critical as we support customers in the space and aerospace sectors, where documentation, traceability, and process control are non-negotiable. If you get fired up about transforming first builds into flight-ready production systems, this role is for you.What You'll DoLead New Product Introduction (NPI)Own the manufacturing ramp-up for new cable and electro-mechanical assembliesTranslate engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements into production-ready processesSupport and fully document first piece builds from prototype through production releaseEnsure builds meet space and aerospace level workmanship and documentation standardsDevelop Flight-Ready Work InstructionsCreate clear, visual, step-by-step work instructions for complex cable assembliesStandardize documentation across programs to meet customer and regulatory expectationsBuild controlled, revision-managed documentation packagesIncorporate inspection criteria, torque values, crimp specifications, test procedures, and traceability requirementsSpace and Aerospace ComplianceInterpret and implement customer flow-down requirementsEnsure compliance with applicable standards such as:IPC/WHMA-A-620, Space Addendum preferredNASA workmanship standards where applicableAS9100 principles and documentation rigorEstablish full material traceability and lot control processesSupport first article inspections and customer auditsBuild processes that are repeatable, traceable, and audit-readyFirst Piece and Process DevelopmentCapture photos, tooling setups, fixturing, inspection points, and lessons learned during first buildsIdentify risk areas early including handling, routing, strain relief, testing, and labelingDefine quality gates and inspection checkpointsConvert tribal knowledge into controlled documentationStandardization and Continuous ImprovementDevelop scalable templates for cable assembly documentationDrive consistency across programs and operatorsImprove throughput while maintaining zero-defect expectationsReduce variability in high reliability buildsWhat Makes You a Great Fit5 or more years in manufacturing engineering, NPI, or process engineeringDirect experience supporting space, aerospace, or other high-reliability customersStrong understanding of:IPC/WHMA-A-620, Space Addendum strongly preferredFirst Article Inspection, AS9102 experience a plusConfiguration control and revision managementLot traceability and material control systemsExperience building processes that withstand customer auditsComfortable on the production floor.
