Working under close supervision, the incumbent assists in evaluating system behavior, data integrity, and software performance while developing foundational skills in systems engineering, certification support, and technical documentation.\r\nPosition Type\r\nFull-Time\r\nSalary\r\n$65k-$95k annually (depending on experience)\r\nWork Location\r\nFull-time onsite with some telework (see onsite requirements below)\r\nOn-site Requirements\r\nThis position is full-time onsite at Patuxent River, MD and may be eligible for reoccurring telework, but will require an onsite work greater than or equal to 85% of the work week.\r\nEssential Functions\r\nSoftware and Data Analysis\r\nAssist in evaluating avionics software systems with emphasis on\r\nData integrity and correctness\r\nLogical flow and algorithm behavior\r\nData structures and data handling processes\r\nAnalyze system outputs and test data to identify basic discrepancies or anomalies\r\nSupport data reviews under guidance of senior engineers\r\nEngineering Support to Certification Activities\r\nAssist in reviewing requirements and engineering artifacts\r\nSupport test planning and execution activities\r\nParticipate in review of verification and validation (V&V) results\r\nContribute to compliance documentation under supervision\r\nTechnical Documentation\r\nDevelop and support basic technical documentation, including:\r\nEngineering summaries\r\nTest procedures and reports\r\nEnsure documentation is clear and traceable\r\nSystems Engineering Support\r\nParticipate in systems engineering activities such as\r\nRequirements review\r\nBasic design evaluation support\r\nTest participation\r\nAssist in identifying data and software-related risks\r\nTeam and IPT Support\r\nWork within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) under guidance\r\nCollaborate with engineers, developers, and analysts\r\nContribute to small task efforts and team deliverables\r\nOther duties as assigned or required\r\nRequirements\r\nRequired\r\nKnowledge of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, logical design)\r\nExposure to programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python)\r\nAbility to analyze technical problems with guidance\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\r\nBasic understanding of avionics or aerospace systems\r\nAbility to work in a team environment\r\nDesired\r\nAcademic or internship experience in\r\nSoftware development or data analysis\r\nSystems engineering environments\r\nExposure to avionics or aerospace systems\r\nFamiliarity with systems engineering concepts (SETR, lifecycle)\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline required and 0-3 years (internships/co-ops applicable).\r\nSecurity Clearance\r\nActive Secret clearance required.
