The CLO will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in all legal and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations, and supporting the organization's governance and business objectives. This role is pivotal in the company's mission to continuously improve the health of the people in the region and will involve leading enterprise-wide legal strategy, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. The successful candidate will also be tasked with developing and implementing risk management frameworks, and compliance programs, and overseeing the legal aspects of various operational areas such as intellectual property, labor and employment, and patient care.Candidates for the Chief Legal Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with a focus on healthcare law, and a proven track record of leadership in a similar capacity. The role requires a deep understanding of state and federal laws and regulations impacting healthcare systems, as well as experience in transactional work, litigation, and commercial transactions. The CLO will be expected to have strong negotiation skills, the ability to interact with government officials, and a collaborative leadership style. A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Mississippi or from a state with reciprocal bar admission are essential.
