Ship Receiver - 2nd ShiftThe Ship Receiver is responsible for the inbound side of warehouse operationsreceiving, inspecting, documenting, and storing shipments accurately to maintain inventory integrity and support efficient supply chain workflows. Primary Responsibilities
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while handling shipments. Report hazards or incidents to management immediately.
Receiving & Inspection: Unload incoming shipments safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Visually and physically inspect goods, verify against purchase orders and packing lists, and document any discrepancies or damage.
Documentation & Recording: Enter inbound data accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP using barcode scanners. Prepare and sign delivery documentation and submit reports on shortages or quality issues.
Inventory Control: Move and store received items in designated warehouse locations, maintaining organization and system accuracy. Assist with cycle counts, audits, and reconcile inventory differences.
Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues or discrepancies.
Quality Control: Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate department.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized assigned work area at all times during your scheduled shift
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
Familiarity with RF scanners and picking systems is advantageous.
Skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following established safety protocols at all times.
Typical Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the Crew Member regularly works near moving equipment.
Position is routinely exposed to hot and cold temperatures during Summer and Winter months in the Distribution Center.
Essential Physical Tasks:
While performing the duties of this job, the Crew Member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, hear, reach with hands and arms, use hands to handle or feel. The Crew Member is occasionally required to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. or team lift items greater than 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
