We build flight- and mission-critical harnesses and cable assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3, the industry's highest workmanship standard, powered by our own design and quoting software. We're a small, fast-moving team that takes pride in building things right the first time.\nABOUT THE ROLE:\nCabelio builds high-reliability wire harnesses and cable assemblies for aerospace and defense customers on Florida's Space Coast. We pair a modern design-and-quoting platform with a hands-on production floor, and we're small enough that the work you do shapes both.\nAs an Engineer, you'll own the path from customer requirement to production-ready hardware. You'll review designs for manufacturability, develop harness designs in the Cabelio platform, generate BOMs and work instructions, and stay close to the floor so what you design actually builds clean. You'll also help shape the tools we're building to do all of this faster.\nAnticipated start date: late September 2026.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nOwn harness designs from customer inputs (sketches, block diagrams, PDFs, schematics) through production-ready drawings, wire lists, and BOMs.\nRun design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and flag issues before they reach the floor.\nDevelop work instructions, layout boards / formboards, and first-article builds, and support first-article inspection.\nSupport test fixture development and validate harness designs electrically and mechanically.\nWork the production floor with technicians to resolve crimp, routing, test, and assembly issues, run root-cause on defects, and drive first-pass yield up.\nManage revision control and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and keep documentation and configuration clean.\nEnsure designs meet customer specifications and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 and Class 3 workmanship.\nContribute to the Cabelio design and quoting platform and help decide what we automate next.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\nDegree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience.\nFamiliarity with wire harness or cable design and manufacturing processes.\nComfortable with CAD and engineering documentation, and able to read complex drawings and customer specs.\nStrong problem‑solving and clear communication, and comfortable spending significant time on the production floor (ESD protocols, smoke‑free facility).\nAble to work on‑site in Melbourne, FL.\nLegally authorized to work in the United States.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nWorking knowledge of IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 (Class 2 and Class 3); CIS or CIT certification a plus.\nExperience with automated wire manufacturing equipment\nExperience with mil‑spec connectors (for example MIL‑DTL‑38999).\nBackground at an aerospace, defense, EV, or robotics company.\nExperience with harness design software and configuration management / ECO processes.\nComfort in a fast‑moving startup where the toolset is still being built.\nReady to apply?
