As a junior process engineer the successful candidate must be able to apply engineering principals in performing tasks such as the evaluation of standard design criteria, methods, and procedures, engineering calculations, or engineering design.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nWork under the mentorship and direction of senior and lead engineers with individual responsibility for quality and accuracy as well as performance budget and schedule.\nUnderstand the project scope and deliverables.  Initiate timely project change notices when deviations are made from project scope that affect the cost of the work, deliverable and/or schedule.\nReview the process design criteria for the project.\nPFD and P&ID development, heat and material balances, hydraulic calculations and other process engineering tasks.\nPrepare process engineering deliverables.\nPrepare equipment specifications and assist in the development of bid packages for procurement of equipment.\nReview and check vendor information and reconcile verses the process design documents.\nCoordinate with others to ensure inter-disciplinary alignment of the design effort.\nReview discipline design information and design drawings for process engineering input and participate in inter-discipline design reviews.\nDevelop familiarity with and utilize industry standards, procedures, and guidelines.\nQUALIFICATIONS / QUALITIES\nBachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Paper Engineering\n0-3 years of experience in the pulp and paper or similar industry\nFamiliarity with industrial processes such as pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and control valves.\nGood communication skills, both verbal and written.\nAble to travel as required.
