Kennel Manager

Job Title Kennel Manager Department: Kennel Reports to: Direct Supervisor Position type: Full Time Supervises: Animal Care Technician Pay range: $17.00-20.00 Position Summary: The Kennel Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kennel and the care of the animals under their supervision. Duties and Responsibilities: ● Operations: Coordinate and supervise kennel operations as well as developing and enforcing kennel policies and procedures. Ensuring that time is effectively managed in the kennel. ● Animal Services: Ensuring that crates, laundry, dishes, kennels, yards and overall facility is cleaned on a regular basis. Ensuring that animals are groomed, fed, watered, exercised and generally cared for. Monitoring the behavior and health of all animals. ● Management: Train and support the Animal Care Technicians. Monitor performance standards set by supervisors. Assign ACT specific duties before morning cleaning. ● Client Communication: Facilitate adoption appointments when needed. Communicate animal behavior needs and history to potential adopters. ● Communication: Communicates with supervisors when medical or behavior situations arise. Update Kennel staff with any new changes and policies. Provide consistent communication and regular updates to the supervisor. ● Supervise Staff ○ Supervise the Animal Care Technicians ○ Provide regular support ○ Provide training to staff that improves LPCHS services Skills and Qualifications: ● High school diploma or equivalent ● Excellent communication skills ● Ability to multitask and direct employees and the ability to work with others. ● Excellent attention to detail Note: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job.
