{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"813ca5cb36c9dc5868bdf5da","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/813ca5cb36c9dc5868bdf5da","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/813ca5cb36c9dc5868bdf5da","title":"Specimen Processor","description":"We are seeking an energetic Specimen Processor with exceptional attention to detail to enhance our team.\n\nPay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE\n\nSchedule: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5:30PM\n\nBenefits:\n\nMedical, Dental, Vision with In-Network & Custom Network discounts\n401(K) with discretionary employer match\nPaid Time Off\nFree clinical diagnostic laboratory testing performed in house\n\nIn this role, you will be responsible for:\n\nSample Processing: Receive and process samples efficiently, ensuring turnaround times; maintain specimen integrity and package samples for referral labs; accurately translate physician orders and diagnoses; verify and manage specimen details and perform data entry; assess specimen adequacy with technical assistance if needed; prepare specimens and perform screening procedures accurately.\nCommunication and Reporting: Respond to colleague inquiries and manage instrumentation alarms; print and distribute reports.\nOperational Duties: Follow daily checklists and ensure timely task completion; adapt to covering shifts and locations as needed; handle additional duties as assigned.\nSafety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and quality assurance practices; ensure HIPAA compliance and follow Medicare rules for ABNs; monitor the work environment for safety issues.\nCustomer Service: Provide excellent customer service.\n\nReliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.\n\nEducation & Certification:\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n\nExperience:\n\nPrevious specimen processing experience (preferred, but not required)\n\nSkills & Competencies:\n\nHigh attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks\n\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently\n\nStrict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality control standards\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nLaboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.\nHigh level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.\nRegular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).\nAbility to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.\nFrequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.\nFlexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.\n\nOSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.\n\nAbout Us: Interpath Laboratory is a family-owned and operated clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory serving communities across Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, and Idaho.
