The SSE is expected to generate concise feature requirement specifications and design documents. Additionally, the SSE is expected to track development timelines, lead the design phase, and negotiate feature sets with the product development leads as well as product managers. The SSE is required to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned development goals. The SSE provides leadership, mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate level engineers. This position reports directly to a Product Manager or Applications Development Manager.\r\nThis position is IN OFFICE at our Camas, WA headquarters.\r\nDuties & Responsibilities\r\nProvide detailed software designs as well as implement and/or maintain code according to duties and responsibilities\r\nRely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned projects\r\nProvide guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, assisting them with planning and accomplishing assigned projects.\r\nPerform a variety of complicated engineering tasks\r\nProvide both remote and on-site technical support to current and potential customers\r\nGenerate detailed software design as well as implement and/or maintain code according to duties and responsibilities\r\nManage and adhere to schedules, deadlines and development goals\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\nREQUIREMENTS\r\nBachelor's in computer science or related field, Master's desirable\r\nFour (4) plus years of Professional Object-Oriented Software Design and Implementation Experience\r\nDemonstrated organizational, leadership, decision-making and communications skills\r\nDemonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies\r\nDemonstrated critical thinking skillsAbility to apply creativity and latitude in solutions is required\r\nAbility to periodically travel as business needs dictate\r\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance: Secret\r\nDesirable\r\nKnowledge of modeling and simulation concepts and practices\r\nExperience writing software using C++ and SCALA\r\nExperience writing software with Qt/QML\r\nExperience with voice and audio sampling, formats, streaming, and processing\r\nKnowledge of RF and radio transmission systems\r\nExperience utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies\r\nExperience training AI models\r\nAbility to analyze, debug, and optimize a complex software project\r\nExperience working with modeling and simulation software products and concepts\r\nMilitary experience in a Command and Control or Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance career field\r\nAbility to setup, configure and troubleshoot a local area network\r\nFamiliarity using JIRA, Confluence, Visual Studio, and Perforce\r\nFamiliarity with SISO and DMO Standards\r\nExperience in Database Management\r\nPERKS\r\nAs a PLEXSYS employee, you can expect certain advantages; such as advancement based on performance, competitive wages, valuable benefits and a great working environment.
