The Senior Systems Engineer shall also be responsible for performing implementation and technology studies.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvides identification and fixing of problems within existing systems, design, and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.\nParticipate in analysis, design, and new construction of next generation IT systems.\nAssist in architecture expansion, planning, and process engineering for physical and virtual Microsoft, Linux, and Citrix, workstation environments.\nCreate and update software engineering documentation.\nDesktop security auditing, implementing, and utilizing usage trends, license management and trends, and application virtualization and provisioning configurations.\nManage issues and troubleshooting tickets.\nResponsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team.\nAnalyze Enterprise Desktop and application end user requirements to generate system requirements.\nLog in to distribution console servers to check on the cluster, servers, and clients.\nUpdate SSPs for each new client.\n\nDESIRED SKILLS:\nExperience as a system engineer on virtual desktop solutions\nExperience displaying skill areas including operating systems (Windows, UNIX, LINUX), Virtual Desktops (Citrix, VMWare), User Management and Permissions, (Active Directory, Centrify)\nAbility to work independently and as a team member solve difficult enterprise desktop and application services problems.\nFamiliarity with ITIL, SEI/CMM desirable\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED\nMust have a solid technical background with a focus on virtual desktop solutions.\nMust have one of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.\nRequired Education & Experience: High School/GED (+20) years of relevant experience.
