While our headquarters are based in Arizona, our team is strategically spread out across the country to actively support our election partners.\r\nSummary: The Bindery Operator must be able to set up and operate one of the saddle stitchers or perfect binders. An individual fulfilling this role must also possess proven leadership, administrative, and people skills. This position requires patience and willingness to handle and complete tasks in a timely manner. As a Bindery Operator, the equipment that will be used are MBO Folders, Perfecta Cutters, Rollem, Automated Shrink Wrapper, and Foot Stitchers. It is essential that operators produce high-quality, detailed work based on established guidelines and procedures - precision is a must with consistent output.\r\nResponsibilities\r\n\r\nMeet with supervisor daily for schedule, job progress, and other tasks\r\nRead job tickets and properly document both counts of product and times that job was produced into the shop floor data system\r\n\r\nMachine setup and operation:\r\n\r\n\r\nSet up and fine-tune pockets to ensure minimal drops and stops during the operation\r\n\r\nSet and monitor machine calipers to ensure the quality of the finished product\r\nSet up, adjust, and repair stitcher heads as needed for smooth and trouble-free operation\r\nChange and adjust trimmer knives\r\n\r\nInspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacement\r\n\r\n\r\nSource correct materials for the job according to the job ticket\r\n\r\nConstantly monitor the quality of the finished product\r\nBe responsible for general maintenance and lubrication of the machine\r\nAssist with housekeeping in the bindery area\r\nBe thoroughly familiar with all areas of the job finishing sheet\r\nFollow all required safety procedures such as PPEs, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees\r\nMaintain production charts and records\r\nTrain new employees\r\nGive direction to machine crew through production and downtime\r\nProvide leadership as required\r\nProvide input to the supervisor for evaluations\r\nFollows all company policies and procedures\r\nComplete and demonstrate a full understanding of ongoing training concepts and applications\r\n\r\nIn addition to the essential functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments while maintaining regular and timely attendance\r\n\r\nRequirements\r\n\r\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\r\nMinimum of 2 years working in a production facility, preferably on bindery equipment\r\nExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and meets deadlines\r\nGood interpersonal and customer contact skills\r\nGood written/verbal communication skills\r\nEffectively sets priorities\r\nAbility to track and report on opportunities for improvement and success\r\nListening effectively when others are speaking\r\nCredible, responsive team-player\r\nAbility to perform and retain various skill-related tasks, training, and operations\r\n18 years of age (minimum)\r\n\r\nPhysical requirements\r\n\r\nFrequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\r\nFrequently stoop, kneel, or bend over\r\nStand for extended periods of time\r\nTalk and hear, both in person and by telephone\r\nRead and interpret documents in English such as job tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals\r\nWrite routine reports and correspondence in English\r\nSpeak in English effectively before groups of workers\r\nAdd and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s\r\nSolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\r\nInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
