Summary Credit Agricole CIB is seeking an Associate I to work within its Global Investment Banking Department in New York, NY on the origination and execution of Mergers & Acquisitions.This M&A Associate position requires strong leadership qualities, good business “instinct”, and the ability to work independently and on many projects with different team members. ResponsibilitiesWork closely with various sectors and product teams to execute buy-side and sell-side M&AExtensive financial modeling in preparing company-specific financial analysis and conducting valuation analysis using various methodologiesReview valuation models including comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout analysis, merger plansManage projects in a client-facing role, including liaising with clients, potential buyers, clients’ other advisors, and team members from across the bankParticipate in business and financial due diligence involving interaction with management teams, accountants, lawyers, consultants and customersLiaise with coverage, sales and trading professionals and other product groups in preparing transactions and other ad hoc requestsTraining and supervision of junior resourceCompetencies RequiredExcellent communication skillsExcellent analytical skillsExperience must include either executing M&A transactionsMust possess the following skills: smart, personable, strong writing, & financial modeling skillsProficient in Excel & PowerPointStrong work ethicEducation RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Finance or related fieldMBA a plusCFA a plusExperience RequiredMin 5 years of Investment Banking related experience, or in a transaction services team with a strong modeling exposure Exposure to infrastructure modeling is a significant plusSkills & Knowledge Requirements Quantitative and technicalStrong technical skills – Well established knowledge of financial modeling (Discounted Cash Flows, Merger Models and LBO analysis)with an ability to work independently on financial modelsGood understanding of what each situation calls for in terms of financial analysis – ability to make decision on financial analysis and capacity to teach analysts to develop modeling and analytical skillsCommunication and business developmentStrong oral and written communication skillsTranslate senior members’ transaction ideas into a written document – ability to elaborate pitches with some guidance from senior team membersGroup coordination and trainingMulti-taskSIE, Series 7, 63 and/or 79
