Supporting the world’s bravest.\nJob Summary\nThe Embedded Software Engineer II supports the design, development, integration, verification, and maintenance of embedded software solutions for advanced embedded systems. The successful candidate will contribute to software development across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments while collaborating closely with systems, hardware, FPGA, and verification teams throughout the product lifecycle.\nThis role requires strong technical proficiency in embedded software development, hardware/software integration, debugging, and system-level problem solving.\nJob Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, integrate, test, and maintain embedded software applications and device drivers.\nDevelop software for embedded processor platforms including AMD/Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC and MicroBlaze architectures.\nImplement and debug low-level software interfaces including UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, and other peripheral interfaces.\nSupport software integration activities across hardware, FPGA, and system-level components.\nPerform software verification, debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution in laboratory and target hardware environments.\nParticipate in board bring-up, hardware/software integration, and system validation activities.\nDevelop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and software verification procedures.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure technical, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved.\nContribute to technical documentation, software design reviews, code reviews, and process improvement initiatives.\nUtilize software development tools and configuration management systems to maintain high-quality software deliverables.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or or equivalent combination of education and experience).\nMinimum 2 years of professional experience in embedded software development\nStrong programming skills in C, C++, and Python with demonstrated proficiency in modern C++ development\nExperience developing embedded software in one or more of the following environments:Bare-Metal Systems, FreeRTOS, or Embedded Linux\nExperience developing, integrating, and debugging low-level device drivers and communication interfaces including UART, I2C, and SPI\nFamiliarity with software development and collaboration tools such as GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence\nWorking knowledge of embedded systems architecture, hardware/software integration, and software verification methodologies\nExperience supporting sensor-based and imaging-based embedded systems, including systems utilizing EO/IR cameras\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing PC-based engineering or verification tools using C#/.NET.\nHands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other laboratory test equipment.\nExperience with board bring-up, hardware integration, system test, and troubleshooting activities.\nExperience supporting software verification in both target hardware and host-PC environments.\nFamiliarity with video processing, imaging systems, sensor interfaces, and real-time embedded applications.\nExperience working within regulated or mission-critical industries such as defense, aerospace, medical devices, or industrial systems.\nExperience developing software for AMD/Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC and/or MicroBlaze-based platforms\nExperience using AMD Vitis IDE for embedded software development, debugging, and system integration\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle processes, configuration management, and requirements-based development.\nU.S. Citizenship required.
