This all starts with our greatest asset…our employees.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nThe SQL Database Developer designs, develops, and maintains robust and efficient processes within SQL Server. This role involves creating and optimizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views, as well as developing ETL processes for data integration and warehousing. In addition to the primary database platform being SQL Server, this position will also assist in developing within the Snowflake database platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, be adept at performance tuning and query optimization, and have a solid understanding of database security and best practices to ensure data integrity and accessibility for various applications and reporting needs.\nThis role is a hybrid position with at least 3 days in-office.\nMajor Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:\nDesign and Development:\nDesign, develop, and implement high-quality, efficient database objects, including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers using T-SQL.\nParticipate in the database design process, including data modeling and normalization, ensuring adherence to best practices\nPerformance and Optimization:\nOptimize and tune complex, high-volume T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes to ensure optimal application performance.\nIdentify and resolve database performance issues, including deadlocks, long-running queries, and poor execution plans.\nData Integrity and Quality:\nDevelop and implement solutions for data migration, replication, and synchronization.\nEnsure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate constraints, indexes, and user access controls.\nCollaboration and Maintenance:\nCollaborate with application development teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.\nConduct code reviews of database scripts and stored procedures written by other developers.\nDocumentation and Reporting:\nCreate and maintain technical documentation related to database design, code, and operational processes.\nAssist in the development process of Power BI Semantic Models to be used by Report Developers.\nEducation/Experience:\nMust have a high school diploma or equivalent experience.\nBachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\nMust have 8+ years of relevant industry work experience.\nRequired Qualifications/Skills:\nTo be successful in this role, a qualified candidate will be able to:\nCompetently write secure and efficient T-SQL scripts.\nProficiently develop ETL pipelines utilizing SSIS and PowerShell for data on Prem and in the Cloud.\nThoroughly understand business logic requirements to fulfill the accurate results needed for making business decisions.\nMaintain accurate documentation of ETL pipelines.\nOptimize existing queries for improved performance through reduced I/O, decreased execution times, and streamlined logical processing.\nMentor junior colleagues, fostering a culture of database best practices and knowledge sharing.\nAnalyze complex, legacy ETL processes and offer solutions to improve efficiency and follow developmental best practices.\nWork effectively in Azure DevOps, utilizing User Stories, Source Control, and Documentation.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nDocumentation skills for processes and procedures.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and security teams.\nPreferred Qualifications/Skills:\nTo excel in this role, a qualified candidate will:\nPossess extensive knowledge in SSRS, SSIS, and Power BI.\nSuccessfully manage competing priorities, focusing on impactful deliverables for stakeholders.\nTake ownership of processes and continually grow / adjust to an ever-changing set of requirements and timelines.\nBe self-motivating, actively seeking areas of improvement, and use an agile approach to bring about quality changes to improve stability and efficiency.\nEnvironmental Job Requirements:\nEnvironment:\nClimate controlled environment. Work under fluorescent lighting. Moderate noise levels.
