We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Android UI/UX and Systems Interfacing. In this role, you will be the primary architect of the user experience as it relates to vehicle controls and transforming telemetry data from the Lightship RV into an intuitive mobile interface. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of our cloud infrastructure. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how the users interact with them.\r\nResponsibilities Design and build engaging applications for Android and iOS platforms.\r\nWork closely with backend developers to integrate APIs, third-party libraries, and cloud services (like Firebase) to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.\r\nCollaborate with our third-party development team on new features and releases.\r\nDevelop, maintain, and extend cloud server applications and infrastructure.\r\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, and collaborate with designers, product managers, and test engineers.\r\nAdhere to best practices and coding standards, conduct code reviews, and maintain clear documentation for future upgrades and utilization.\r\nMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 2+ years of relevant experience\r\nProficiency developing with Kotlin for Android\r\nExperience using Flutter for cross-platform application development\r\nBasic knowledge of UI design and reactive UI patterns\r\nBasic knowledge of ProtoBufs, MQTT, WebSockets, and restricted-bandwidth data protocols\r\nExperience with Embedded Linux and Linux system services\r\nExperience working with databases such as SQLite\r\nExperience using version control tools like Git and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines\r\nStrong written and verbal technical communication skills\r\nPreferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with AWS IoT Core, Lambda\r\nProficiency in C#, Python\r\nFamiliarity with Ethernet, WiFi, LTE, and Bluetooth\r\nFamiliarity with GTest Framework or equivalent\r\nExperience with XCode and TestFlight\r\nExperience working with cross-functional software, hardware, test, and manufacturing teams\r\nEquity Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.\r\n$127,000 - $150,000 a year\r\nOnsite/Hybrid Work Hybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home.
