Senior Safety Manager

DescriptionPosition Summary:Leeco Steel is a leading supplier of carbon, HSLA and alloy steels from the premier mills worldwide. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Safety Manager will oversee safety-related tasks at all of Leeco Steel's facilities across North America. This role works closely with many teams to ensure compliance, promote a strong safety culture and drive risk reduction initiatives. This position requires 30-50% travel and regular in-person attendance at a Leeco office or facility when not traveling.Key Responsibilities:+ Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of EHS programs, policies and procedures across all Leeco Steel locations+ Conduct and support EHS audits, inspections and compliance evaluations+ Partner with teams to identify hazards, assess risk and implment effective safety controls+ Lead incident investigations (including near misses) and root cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained+ Support regulatory compliance efforts, including OSHA and environmental requirements, reporting, and documentation+ Maintain required EHS documentation and records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations+ Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics; support development of KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives+ Collaborate with HR and leadership on workers' compensation claims, injury management, and return-to-work programs+ Support and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels+ Promote a strong safety culture by engaging employees and reinforcing safe work practices+ Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and compliance activities across facilities+ Partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies as needed to support compliance and safety initiatives+ Perform other duties as assignedQualifications+ Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable safety and environmental regulations+ Experience supporting EHS programs within a manufacturing environment+ Proven ability to conduct audits, investigations, and risk assessments+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills+ Excellent organizational and time management abilities+ Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentEducation, Experience & Certifications+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field required+ Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM or similar preferred+ OSHA 30-hour certification required; OSHA 500 and other advanced certifications are a plus+ First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain) preferred+ 5-8+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in manufacturing+ Experience with workers' compensation processes and injury management+ Experience supporting regulatory audits, reporting and compliance activitiesEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
