The Engineer will troubleshoot reported symptoms to aid in the resolution process either directly for the customer or to help guide the development team in providing permanent solutions. The Engineer will typically work as part of a team with limited direction\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nAble to assess customer needs and set expectations\nHandle moderate to complex application guidance and level II customer support and resolution for assigned product list\nResponsible for handling a high volume of administrative cases\nVerify accuracy of business impact statement as provided by the customer\nPerform, with limited direction, problem verification by confirming customer’s environment, error messages, and symptoms of a problem\nAble to troubleshoot common problems\nUse testing tools for troubleshooting\nResearch moderate cases using knowledge bases, documentation etc.\nGather information to develop reproducible cases\nPrepare, recommend and implement solutions\nMastery of creating case tracking details for use by team members for similar/future problem resolution\nAccountable for team and individual results\nParticipate in internal projects and other work as directed\nSelf-directed learning to expand expertise of Rocket Software products\nContributes to training content, as necessary\nAct as the go-to Technical Support Engineer for Technical Support Technicians\nAssist other Support Engineers at different levels\nWrite collateral at an appropriate level\nContributes to training\nExperience & Qualifications:\n2+ years of technical engineering support\nPreferred technical computer knowledge\nBachelor of Science Degree preferred\nAvailable for some after hours, weekend and/or holiday work\nExperience & Qualifications:\nFluent with common UNIX commands\nFamiliarity with UNIX Shell such as Bash (preferred) or tcsh\nz/OS skills - SMP/E, TSO experience\n\nThe base salary range for this role is $57,694.00 - $72,118.00 /year.
