We partner with brokers to transform how they work, grow, and succeed by:\nEmpowering Matching: Building smarter tools and visibility that boost broker match rates and strengthen carrier connections.\nFueling Growth: Enabling brokers to expand through better pricing, new freight categories, and integrations.\nEnsuring Payments: Strengthening and automating broker payment processes to reduce risk and ensure reliability.\nEnabling Ideal Experiences: Delivering seamless workflows via APIs and webhooks between the Convoy Platform and TMSs, with self-service configuration and onboarding tools.\nWhat You'll Do\nHands-On Development\nWrite, test, and deploy production-quality code with guidance from senior engineers.\nBuild and maintain backend services in js/TypeScript and contribute to React frontends as needed.\nImplement and support message-driven workflows (Kafka/RabbitMQ) using existing patterns and reusable components.\nImprove code quality and maintainability as you deliver features (tests, refactors, documentation).\nCollaboration & Growth\nPartner with product and business stakeholders to clarify requirements in a complex domain.\nParticipate in code reviews (both receiving and giving) and incorporate feedback quickly.\nLearn the team's operational practices: monitoring, alerts, on-call support, and incident follow-ups.\nGrow ownership over time: take on increasingly complex tickets, then small projects.\nThe Skills and Experience You'll Bring\n2–5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent).\nExperience building production services in TypeScript/Node.js (or strong Java/C#/Go experience with willingness to ramp).\nFamiliarity with React and modern frontend development fundamentals.\nComfort working with APIs (REST preferred; GraphQL a plus) and collaborating on contracts.\nFamiliarity with SQL databases (schema basics, writing queries, migrations with guidance).\nExposure to async systems (queues/events) such as Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS is a plus, or willingness to learn.\nSolid engineering fundamentals: debugging, testing, code quality, and clear written communication.\nWillingness to participate in on-call rotation and incident follow-ups (with support and training).\nBonus Skills\nExperience with microservices in production.\nHands-on exposure to Kafka/RabbitMQ patterns (retries, DLQs, idempotency).\nDocker/Kubernetes familiarity.\nCI/CD experience (tests in pipeline, safe deploy patterns, feature flags).\n\nWhy DAT?\nDAT is an award winning employer of choice.\nFor starters, we have a hybrid work environment, but we also know what makes a great workplace.
