Location: Durango, CO, 81301 Employment Status: Full-Time Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday | 3:30 PM - 11:15 PM Pay: Pays up to $23.00 per hour Position Overview Citadel Security USAis seeking a Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in Durango, Colorado. This position focuses on maintaining a safe shopping environment, monitoring daily activity throughout the property, and supporting store operations during evening hours. The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and staff in a professional manner while working independently throughout the shift. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular patrols throughout the retail property, parking areas, and surrounding groundsMonitor entrances and exits to help maintain a secure environmentObserve customer and employee activity and report suspicious behavior or safety concernsAssist with access control and verify authorization when necessaryRespond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or policy violations following site proceduresMaintain a visible security presence to help discourage theft, trespassing, and unsafe behaviorComplete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation accuratelyCommunicate clearly with supervisors, store leadership, and emergency personnel when neededFollow all post orders, safety standards, and company policies during each shiftProvide professional customer service while interacting with guests and staff Minimum QualificationsAbility to work evening shifts on a consistent scheduleStrong attention to detail and situational awarenessReliable transportation to and from the worksiteProfessional communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced retail setting Preferred ExperiencePrevious security, retail, or customer service experienceExperience writing reports or documenting incidentsFamiliarity with patrol procedures and de-escalation techniques Work EnvironmentActive retail environment with regular interaction with customers and staffCombination of walking patrols, standing, and monitoring assigned areasIndoor and outdoor responsibilities depending on operational needsEvening schedule requiring alertness and consistent attention throughout the shift Equal Opportunity Employer Citadel Security USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
