In this role, you will build and maintain tools that support the operational excellence of services and the platform.\nAs a Staff Software Engineer on the DevOps Tools Team, you’ll be on a team building an operational data platform for Procore; aggregating data from many sources for analysis by leaders and teams. Components of the platform include tracking production change events to aid in quick incident response, programmatically measuring Procore’s operational, disaster recovery, and incident preparedness, as well as creating compelling data visualizations that teams and leadership can use to mature their systems. You will combine your people and technical skills along with good design principles to create a self-service operational data platform that other platform developers can easily integrate with. The goal of this team is to help Procore maintain a high level of reliability through building tools for operational excellence. The impact of this team is wide as it touches all aspects of Procore's growth. Come be a part of a great team and company!\nThis position reports to the Engineering Manager of the DevOps Tools team and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.\nWhat you’ll do:\nStandup and extend a secrets management solution for services running in kubernetes ASGs across all Procore environments.\nImplement robust and scalable devops tools.\nIdentify and propose solutions for technical and organizational gaps in our devops tools space, participate in the design and review of your tools following engineering best practices, run proof of concepts, demo for stakeholders, transform problem statements into milestones, and partner with DevOps Tools engineers and architects on implementation.\nMentor. Create and share best practices for the devops tools space with other engineers.\nParticipate in on-call rotation supporting the team’s production tools.\nWhat we’re looking for:\nBS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience is required; MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred\n8+ years software development experience.\nExperience with deploying Secrets solutions - preferably Vault - in production environments at enterprise-grade SaaS companies serving millions of users per day.\nExperience with AWS, Spark, Databricks, Data pipeline frameworks, streaming tools (Kafka), API design. Understanding of Data Analytics is a plus.\nProficient in one or more of the following: Golang, TypeScript, Java, Kubernetes, Helm, SQL, Terraform, basic DB schema design.\nFamiliarity with operational control planes, APIs - observability, logging, telemetry.\nGrowth mindset. Willing to try new things, learn, and a proven track record of embodying Procore's core values — Openness, Ownership, and Optimism.\nExperience working in an Agile Environment.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nBase Pay Range $158,680 - $218,185.
