Come join the team that is working quietly to keep the light of liberty shining!\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead a team of 20-30 engineers supporting present and future satellite programs by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews.\n\nWork collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills.\n\nRepresent the organization in internal and external stakeholder interactions by practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors while facilitating the resolution of technical issues.\n\nOversee technical product management for program life cycles while implementing strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports.\n\nMaintain full command over program priorities and schedules by holding your team accountable to achieve key milestones and deliver value.\n\nSupport the acquisition of new business by generating Basis of Estimate inputs for proposals and evaluating your team’s ability to execute proposed scope.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nDemonstrated experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.\n\nDemonstrated experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goals.\n\nActive Top Secret or SCI Security Clearance prior to start.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nDemonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, and being accountable.\n\nFundamental understanding of flight hardware design, integration, and test principles.\n\nFundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniques.\n\nDetailed knowledge of aerospace structures hardware, conversant in other mechanical systems (including flight, ground, packaging, and mechanisms), and possesses a strong background in organizational processes.\n\nExperience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities.Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers.\n\nPrevious production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experience.\n\nWillingness to mentor and develop junior engineers.\n\nExcellent written and verbal technical communication skills.\n\nSecurity Clearance\nThis position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.\n\nClearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly\n\nLocation\nOnsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.\n\nWorking Hours & Schedule\nLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9-x-80 every other Friday off.\n\nPay & Benefits\nPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.\n\nMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.\n\n(Washington state applicants only) Non‑represented full‑time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
