About the Opportunity:The Patient Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting patient care coordination by managing referrals, medications, lab work, imaging, scheduling, and treatment plan follow-up. This position ensures patients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance throughout their healthcare journey. Serving as the primary contact for patients and collaborating with healthcare providers and facilities, the coordinator enhances the overall patient experience and contributes to efficient care delivery.3. Responsibilities:• Act as the primary contact for patient inquiries about referrals, imaging, lab work, medications, and treatment plans• Collaborate with healthcare providers and facilities to coordinate patient care• Manage referrals, tests, procedures, and ensure timely care delivery• Communicate medication and authorization details with pharmacies and insurance providers• Update patients and healthcare facilities on the status of labs, imaging, and medical services• Schedule patients according to treatment plans• Apply critical thinking to resolve issues and implement solutions• Maintain accurate patient records and document all interactions• Monitor patient progress and identify opportunities for service improvement• Communicate with empathy, professionalism, and compassion• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality• Perform other duties as assigned4. Requirements:• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred• 2+ years of customer service or healthcare experience preferred• 1+ years of experience with EHR systems (athenaOne preferred)• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes• Remote work experience preferred, especially in high-volume call environments• Effective verbal and written communication skills• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other computer systems• Customer service orientation with professionalism and compassion• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour6.
