{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","title":"Solutions Engineer","description":"Solutions Engineers provide solutions to customers pain points related to design, materials, and costs that lead to new business opportunities and improved win rate.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nWork closely with Outside Sales, Customers, and Estimators to understand the requirements for new opportunities and provide solutions related to materials, process, and product design\nSpecify materials to be sourced per print specifications, application requirements, or physical samples and leverage material equivalents and alternatives that give the organization a competitive advantage\nCreate or modify 2D/3D models in Solid Edge/Solid Works to provide solutions to customers and win opportunities\nWork cross-functionally to facilitate solution development and drive cost out of products and processes\nBecome the subject matter expert of unique Sur-Seal materials to assist estimators/sales in new opportunities\nWork with key suppliers to understand relevant product lines and new technology being offered that will create new opportunities with customers\nPlan and execute “Lunch and Learns” for key customers to drive new opportunities\nProvide technical solutions to help solve external and internal customer pain points in design, quality, and production\nPrepare and review prototypes prior to sending them to customers\nWork on multiple projects and solutions engineering requests simultaneously\nMust be willing to travel to customers/suppliers\nComplete all other duties as assigned by management\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nMust have a BS degree in Engineering\nMust have 3-5 years of solutions engineering experience\nExperience interacting with OEM customers and building relationships both internally and externally\nExperience reviewing and creating technical drawings in CAD software preferably\nSolid Works or Solid Edge\nPossess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products.\nExperience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred.\nESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES\nCommunicating effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization\nPerform advanced calculations related to material yields, labor rates, and gross margin and apply those calculations to if/then scenarios to determine the best course of action on new and existing opportunities.\nDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nPossesses high degree of problem solving and critical thinking skills\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT\nIndividuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface periodically throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
