{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/7fdbdc704fed82d1aa2d4e1b","title":"Solutions Engineer","description":"ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with Outside Sales, Customers, and Estimators to understand the requirements for new opportunities and provide solutions related to materials, process, and product designSpecify materials to be sourced per print specifications, application requirements, or physical samples and leverage material equivalents and alternatives that give the organization a competitive advantageCreate or modify 2D/3D models in Solid Edge/Solid Works to provide solutions to customers and win opportunitiesWork cross-functionally to facilitate solution development and drive cost out of products and processesBecome the subject matter expert of unique Sur-Seal materials to assist estimators/sales in new opportunitiesWork with key suppliers to understand relevant product lines and new technology being offered that will create new opportunities with customersPlan and execute \"Lunch and Learns\" for key customers to drive new opportunitiesProvide technical solutions to help solve external and internal customer pain points in design, quality, and productionPrepare and review prototypes prior to sending them to customersWork on multiple projects and solutions engineering requests simultaneouslyMust be willing to travel to customers/suppliersComplete all other duties as assigned by managementEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMust have a BS degree in EngineeringExperience interacting with OEM customers and building relationships both internally and externallyExperience reviewing and creating technical drawings in CAD software preferablySolid Works or Solid EdgePossess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office products.Experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESCommunicating effectively and professionally with all levels of the organizationPerform advanced calculations related to material yields, labor rates, and gross margin and apply those calculations to if/then scenarios to determine the best course of action on new and existing opportunities.Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Possesses high degree of problem solving and critical thinking skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENTIndividuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface periodically throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
