This role involves creating prototypes, performing internal testing, and resolving software discrepancies to ensure compliance with documented requirements and user needs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain software for scientific/engineering applications.\nPerform test evaluation and quality assurance of 3rd party provided and company-built software.\nCreate prototypes and conduct internal software testing.\nAnalyze and resolve discrepancies against documented requirements.\nAssess software maintainability and adherence to user requirements.\nGenerate program design language and code following departmental standards.\nPrepare and update project documentation.\nAnalyze systems and develop computer specifications for data processing.\nEncode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures.\nCollaborate with engineering teams on design and utilization of data processing systems software.\nProvide analysis for utility, development, and diagnostic software products.\nParticipate in developing engineering test strategies, devices, and systems.\nSoftware integration (system administration), make notes/record of the integration.\nTesting / quality assurance capability.\nAssess software maintainability and adherence to user requirements.\nPrepare reports based on project templates and maintain project documentation.\nAnalyze systems and develop computer specifications for data processing.\nCollaborate with engineering teams on design and utilization of OMS/UCI.\nProvide analysis for utility, development, and diagnostic software products.\nParticipate in developing engineering test strategies, and systems.\nIntegrate software in a system administration capacity, record notes of the integration.\nCreate prototype software to bridge gaps discovered in product evaluation, if practical.\nProduce reports and any written code following team standards.\nFollow Agile processes as dictated by team leadership.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nActive DoW Secret clearance (must be able to obtain TS/SCI)\nBA/BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\nMinimum of 3 years of related experience.\nDevops and containerization experience.\nAbility to read and document modern C++, and Python source code.\nWorking knowledge of Podman/Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible / Terraform (infrastructure and automation tools).\nWorking knowledge of diagnostic (Linux) tools to understand how software systems work together (i.e. Wireshark, curl, netcat/ss, general bash scripting).\nExperience with OMS/UCI helpful but not required.\nKnowledge of STIGs and SELinux would be a bonus but not required.\nAbility to work within a closely assembled team that consists of highly motivated goal driven professionals.\nGood communication skills\nAbility to pivot from current tasks to those that have been deemed urgent.\nDesired:\nActive DoW TS/SCI\nReady to Make a Difference?\nIf you’re excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at KBR.
