Learn more about the benefits of joining Team UES and our core values at careers.teamues.com.\r\nPosition Overview\r\nAs a Special Inspector with CWI, you will be responsible for providing various testing and inspections on new and on-going projects to verify compliance with building codes and standards.\r\nResponsibilities\r\n\r\nPerform routine field tests or inspections\r\nComplete structural concrete and reinforcing code and job specification compliance\r\nRead maps, blueprints, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans\r\nUnderstand structural masonry code and job specification compliance\r\nDetermine pre-stressed and post tension concrete tendons, reinforcing code and job specification compliance\r\nPerform inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, steel and/or wood framing\r\nDetermine spray-applied fireproofing code and job specification compliance\r\nDocument accurate and detailed field activity/inspections and report findings/diagrams to the clients and supervisors\r\nCommunicate daily with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers verbally and electronically\r\nComplete and prepare accurate and detailed field-testing reports daily\r\nFollow all safety procedures, policies and protocols\r\nVehicle maintenance, inspection, and adherence to safety policies and procedures\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\r\nMust be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites\r\nValid Driver's License with acceptable driving record\r\nExperience of 2+ years in field and/or inspections\r\nPreferred: AAS or BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or related degree\r\nStrong knowledge of relevant DOT material specifications and testing procedures\r\nRequired Certifications:\r\nActive ICC Certifications: Masonry, Soils, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Post-Tension, Concrete, etc. or EI (Engineer-In-Training) licensure\r\n\r\nActive CWI certification\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to pass a background check screening\r\n\r\nAbility to read and interpret construction documents\r\nAbility to calculate results from construction inspections\r\nAbility to accurately perform field testing documentation and detailed figures\r\nAbility to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications\r\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos\r\nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, construction teams, and other employees of the organization\r\nStrong written and verbal communication and ability to use technology/computer\r\n\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\n\r\nPreferred Certifications:\r\nACCP Certification\r\nRadiation Safety, DOT Roadway, Earthworks Certifications\r\nAdditional Applicable Industry Certifications\r\n\r\nTravel Requirements\r\nThis position requires extensive travel, approximately up to 70% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments.
