The primary function of this role is to safely operate a Freightliner day cab (automatic) with a 53-foot dry van, completing daily drop-and-hook routes to deliver and retrieve freight within our regional network. This position requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and strict adherence to all transportation regulations.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nSafely operate a Class A CDL commercial vehicle over regional routes averaging 450–550 miles per shift.\nFollow assigned schedules to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of freight.\nConduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.\nMaintain accurate logs and documentation using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD), such as Samsara.\nEfficiently handle drop-and-hook and occasional live load/unload procedures.\nCommunicate professionally with dispatchers, managers, and customers.\nComply with all federal and state transportation regulations and company policies.\n\nQualifications:\nValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).\nMinimum of 3 years of professional Class A driving experience.\nClean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and ability to pass a background check.\nValid Medical Card and registration with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.\nStrong time management skills and adaptability to changing conditions.\nCommitment to safety and excellent customer service.\nMust pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.\n\nPPE Requirements:\nDrivers are required to wear the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times:\nSteel-toe boots\nSafety vest (provided by Red Baron Transportation)\n\nCompensation and Benefits:\nHourly Pay: $24 – $26 (based on experience)\nHome Time: Home Daily\nBenefits(available after 90 days):\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\nAncillary coverage options\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nCompany-paid holidays\nOpportunities for career growth and advancement\n\nSchedule:\nShift: Evening/Night Shift\nDays: Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required\nDispatch Window: Between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM\nDuration: Typically 10 to 12 hours, with shifts potentially running up to 14 hours\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity:\nRed Baron Transportation is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
