SMALL ENGINE MECH - CORR REFCLASSIFICATION TITLE: SMALL ENGINE MECHANICPURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATIONAdjusts, repairs, and services a wide variety of equipment with small engines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.Performs preventive maintenance.Services, adjusts, and repairs various equipment, such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, and chainsaws; prepares and maintains service logs.Operates and tests equipment; drives trash truck.Moves County furniture, equipment, and offices.Performs landscape maintenance at county facilities.Performs maintenance of sprinkler systems at county facilities.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSTransports truck to garage for service; delivers inmates and tools to job sites.Picks up parts as needed.Performs other related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training that includes small engine and equipment maintenance and repair; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.ADA COMPLIANCEPhysical Ability: Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals.Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as odors or temperature extremes.Clayton County, Georgia, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
