Requisition Number: 20160710-2 Position Name: Senior Linux and VMware Administrator Position Type: Contract Job Location: MD-Germantown Job responsibility: Provide the Linux System Administration function for the Business Critical Servers. Provide support on the Virtual Linux VMs running on the ESX 5.5 environment.. Provision new Linux VMs as per the standards.. Provide the performance troubleshooting.. Keep the Linux patches unto date.. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in the Linux system administration and VMware field.. At least 6-8 years experience in System Administration of Linux servers (Redhat). Should have the Red Hat Certifications. Experience in troubleshooting server issues related to systems and applications such as Oracle DBs running on Linux.. Experience with system patches. Good knowledge of Satellite server and Skywalk. – Must have one or other.. Experience with data center servers including blade servers Cisco UCS, Dell & HP Blade. Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols). Good to have Scripting skills (e.g., Perl, Python, shell scripting. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent teamwork skills, result oriented and self motivated.
