This role partners closely with business leaders and employees to provide HR guidance and operational support across employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, benefits, and HR programs.\n\nThe HR Manager serves as a key point of contact for managers and employees, helping to ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices while maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws. This role balances strategic partnership with hands-on execution and plays an important role in fostering a positive employee experience and supporting organizational effectiveness.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nEmployee Relations & Compliance\n\nServe as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees by providing guidance on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, performance concerns, attendance issues, investigations, corrective action, and terminations.\nSupport conflict resolution and employee issue management in a fair, consistent, and compliant manner.\nConduct or support workplace investigations and prepare documentation and recommendations as needed.\nPartner with leaders to address employee concerns and support a positive and productive work environment.\nEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment legislation, including but not limited to:\nCalifornia employment standards\nHuman rights and workplace harassment requirements\nOccupational health and safety obligations\nPay and applicable leave requirements\nPrivacy and employee records obligations\nPartner with legal counsel and leadership on complex employee relations issues and risk mitigation strategies.\nMaintain HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.\nMaintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements.\nSupport internal audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements as needed.\n\nTalent Acquisition & Workforce Planning\n\nPartner with business leaders to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning efforts.\nParticipate in recruiting strategies and activities for hourly roles, as applicable.\nEnsure onboarding practices support employee integration, engagement, and retention.\n\nPerformance Management & Talent Development\n\nCoach managers on performance management best practices including coaching, corrective action, and employee development strategies.\nIdentify training needs and support the implementation of employee and manager training initiatives.\nPromote employee engagement, accountability, and development through consistent HR partnership and support.\n\nHR Operations\n\nEnsure accurate HR records, reporting, and data integrity within HR systems.\nMonitor HR metrics and reporting related to turnover, hiring, absenteeism, employee relations, and other key workforce indicators.\nPartner cross-functionally with Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Operations, and Legal to ensure alignment and effective support of the business.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field preferred.\n5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant experience in employee relations, compliance, and HR leadership.\nPrior experience supporting employees and operations in California required.\nStrong knowledge of California employment standards and California HR practices.\nExperience advising leaders and managing complex employee relations matters.\nDemonstrated experience leading HR initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-site, or operational environment preferred.\nExperience with HRIS systems, reporting, and HR process improvement strongly preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\n\nAbility to influence and partner effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization.\nExcellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills in handling sensitive employee matters.\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.\nProven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nAnalytical mindset with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into action.\nHigh level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.\n\nLanguage Requirements\n\nBilingual in English and Spanish preferred\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and external stakeholders\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nFlexibility of work schedule as needs arise during nights or weekends.\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage urgent employee and business matters with professionalism and responsiveness.\n\nWe are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all candidates.
