MIRTH Integration EngineerAustin, TX (Remote within TX)9 months Contract with possibility to extensionThis role requires extensive experience with Mirth Connect, a strong technical background in software development, experience troubleshooting and configuring advanced manual installation of MIRTH (not the install wizard)). This position will collaborate with other Mirth Engineers and cross-functional technical teams to develop and implement innovative solutions leveraging industry best practices. Finally, the Mirth Integration Specialist will provide technical guidance to other support team, collaborating with stakeholders provide integration and installation support for public health partners.Duties & Responsibilities:Develop Mirth functions, routes, and maps to transform and translate messagesInstall (manual installation) and configure Mirth ConnectProvide oversight and guidance to cross-functional teams in identifying areas of improvement within data integration processes and workflowsEnsure adherence to industry standards and best practices in designing efficient data integration architecture and methodologyArchitecture:Design performance testing processes and test plans to evaluate the scalability and robustness of data integration processes/toolsCollaborate with infrastructure teams to identify potential performance bottlenecks and propose optimizations or infrastructure enhancementsDocument Technical Specifications:Develop technical documents, diagrams, standards, and guidelines relating to data exchangeCreate documentation of process improvements, lessons learned, and best practices to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the teamEmployment Standards:5+ years of hands-on experience with Mirth Connect (expert) is requiredProficiency in Java programming language and other programming languages (e.g., C, Java, Python, JavaScript)Familiarity with public health informatics including both laboratory and surveillance is desiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Health Information Technology/Electronic health records knowledge is desired (EMR/EHR, PACS, LIS, RIS, etc.)Hands-on experience using HL7 V2.X, FHIR, LOINC, and SNOMED is nice to haveProficiency in application interface technologies and standards, including HL7, XSLT, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, FHIR, CCD, CDA, etc., and other relevant protocolsMust have strong written and oral communication skillsMust be adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
