This position will function both in the field as well as in the office. The Inspector I will perform basic field observations, inspections, and document existing conditions as well as construction activity on behalf of the Client/Developer.\r\nPrimary ResponsibilitiesPerform field inspections and document findings in support of design improvements per client requirements. Communicate with design engineer/architect and recommend possible solutions for consideration with working knowledge of subject matter.\r\nInterpret specifications, construction drawings and convey intent to the contractor in support of field operations.\r\nWork with design staff to address contractor requests for information and/or design changes.\r\nObserve construction activity, document daily progress through the Daily Field Report (DFR), and report all findings. Record and document this information in a legible and organized manner, as required by the plans, specifications, or client requirements.\r\nEnsures field data, reports, etc. get saved onto CESO’s server within the appropriate project folder.\r\nCommunicate and coordinate with the contractor and CESO Project Manager or Team Lead on project status, schedule, and concerns.\r\nSupport Engineers and Project Managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects.\r\nPerform redline mark‑up revisions (in electronic format/software) as directed by others.\r\nPerform routine technical work which does not require previous experience.\r\nPavement:Walk entire site/locations and document findings electronically;Photograph, and where necessary, videotape observations;Prepare remedy/repair solutions\r\nOil & Gas:Walk site regularly throughout day and document findings in daily format;Watch over all work being performed to ensure compliance;Review and advise on traffic/safety concerns\r\nUnderstand the health and safety requirements.\r\nAttend daily safety meeting and fill out a job hazard analysis form to include in daily report.\r\nGain experience and knowledge in all facets of engineering in both field and office settings including surveying, construction, and design.\r\nLearn local, state and federal laws and regulations and adapt engineering information codes and standards to plan, review, and design of projects.\r\nDrives company vehicles to and from work sites. Ability to coordinate and book travel arrangements within company and client travel guidelines.\r\nCleans and performs simple maintenance (e.g., checks fluids levels, tire pressure) on company vehicles.\r\nRecords routine work data (e.g., miles driven; expense reporting).\r\nPerform other duties as assigned.\r\nPosition RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.\r\nAssociate degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is preferred.\r\n0-5 years of related experience and/or training is preferred.\r\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\r\nMust have the ability to reserve rental cars for business purposes\r\nOSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe Land Certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.\r\nFire extinguisher certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.\r\nCompletion of Oil & Gas annual safety training provided by the Company.\r\nFirst Aid & CPR certification is preferred.\r\nComputer Skills necessary to enter timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.\r\nBasic knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu.\r\nPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
