The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and backup strategies. Experience with Apache NiFi for data flow automation and integration is highly preferred.\n\nThis hybrid role combines core DBA responsibilities with system administration tasks, requiring a solid understanding of both data and systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across our platforms.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAdminister, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+).\nMonitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics.\nImplement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.\nPerform system administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration.\nAutomate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.\nCollaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments.\nEnsure database and system security through access controls and auditing.\nTroubleshoot and resolve database and server issues in production and non-production environments.\nDocument procedures, configurations, and best practices.\n\nQualificationsRequired Qualifications:\n\nMinimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.\n\nAn additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of the degree.\nSQL Server DBA experience.\n\nA current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.\nStrong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design.\n\nSolid understanding of Windows Server administration.\n\nProficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.\n\nFamiliarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning.\n\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\n\nExcellent communication and documentation abilities.\n\nU.S. citizenship required.\nA current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nKnowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS.\n\nExperience using NiFi for ETL workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with Linux environments.\n\nExposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nPeraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.\n\nSCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range\n\nDetails\nTarget Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000.
