Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the mining team to achieve the daily targets while working closely with the underground operators, ensure all tasks are meeting safety standards, targets and deadlines to maximize productivity and profitability.\nLocation: 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada\nShift: 14-days on / 14-days off rotation\nAccommodation: Camp and meals provided.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nDemonstrate commitment to following all Mine site safety rules, procedures and regulations, while ensuring the safety of others.\nAlways act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of Barminco.\nCollect, deliver and ensure all necessary materials are delivered as and when required.\nAssist Jumbo Operator to build ground support and perform boring operations underground such as the installation of rock bolts and mesh.\nSet up headings for providing ground support using mesh, split sets, and resin bolts.\nObserve experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards; attain necessary skills to assist jumbo operator as required.\nAssists with face preparation for drilling.\nAssist with installation of ground support.\nCoupling and decoupling of jumbo power cables.\nInstall lifter tube to lifters.\nDisplay a high level of standard to housekeeping with LV’s, storage areas underground and work areas.\nInstall mine services and ventilation as required.\nConduct risk assessment of job tasks.\nRecord all shift report data correctly and on time (i.e. delays, locations, directions etc.).\nDocument work performed, problems diagnosed, pre checks on all equipment and machinery used in the day and all other required paperwork.\nImmediately report problems/failures that may impact the team, or the company, to your Shift Supervisor.\nMaintain and demonstrate a professional and courteous relationship with employees, subcontractors, the client and all other personnel.\nUnderstand and comply with all PPE requirements in work areas.\nOther duties may be assigned by your Supervisor, as required.\n\nQualifications:\nPrevious underground mining experience would be preferred.\nMust maintain a valid Driver’s License; manual transmission experience an asset.\nSelf motivated and energetic - Enjoys hard work and highly physical roles.\nSound planning, time management and organizational skills.\nTo attend all designated rostered days, punctuality with shift start times, timely commencement of work activities.
