This is a US based remote position.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nThe primary focus of this role is building and maintaining scalable Java backend services that power Fanatics Betting & Gaming's internal platforms.\n\nDesign, build, and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.\nDevelop scalable, reliable, and well-tested services that integrate with Salesforce and other internal and external systems.\nParticipate in architecture and design discussions for APIs, distributed systems, and data flows.\nWrite high-quality, maintainable code with strong unit and integration test coverage.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues across services, integrations, and data pipelines.\nContribute to internal web applications and user interfaces backed by Java services.\nBuild and maintain integrations between Java services and Salesforce using REST APIs, events, or middleware.\nContribute to Salesforce development when needed, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform configuration.\nPartner with Salesforce engineers to ensure scalable integration patterns and data integrity.\nCollaborate with frontend and full-stack engineers to support internal tools used by Operations, Support, Marketing, Risk, and Data teams.\nWork closely with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and cross-functional partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\nParticipate in sprint planning, estimation, and agile delivery.\nCommunicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and implementation details to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nFollow engineering best practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, testing, observability, and documentation.\nImprove platform reliability, performance, monitoring, and long-term maintainability by addressing technical debt and enhancing operational excellence.\nExperience and Skills\n6+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java.\nStrong experience building and supporting production Java backend services.\nExperience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.\nExperience developing REST APIs and integrating distributed systems.\nExperience integrating enterprise applications with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.\nFamiliarity with Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Salesforce APIs is preferred.\nExperience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or similar messaging platforms.\nExperience working in AWS or other cloud environments.\nExperience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.\nFamiliarity with distributed systems, service-to-service communication, and data integration patterns.\nExperience contributing to internal web applications or modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.) is a plus.\nExperience building highly available, regulated, or enterprise-scale applications is preferred.\nExperience leveraging AI tools or coding assistants (OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, LangChain, Microsoft Copilot, Vertex AI, CrewAI, AutoGen, etc.) to improve engineering productivity is a plus.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently own complex technical initiatives.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional business and engineering teams.\n\nDepending on the role, your interview and onboarding experience may include in-person components, such as onsite interviews or Launching into Better: LIVE—a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City for full-time, non-seasonal hires.
