The Mechanical Designer will be involved in all stages of new product development including initial concept, detailed design, validation, and product release. Success is measured by the ability to help the team develop solutions that deliver unique capabilities and provide excellent return on investment, both for FormFactor and for our customers. Successful individuals must employ creative design and problem-solving techniques and be able to effectively collaborate with team members.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEffectively manages supports and coordinates projects, with minimal guidance and/or supervision.\nPerforms on-going conceptual and detailed mechanical design, design review and engineering analysis in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.\nEnsures all objectives regarding specifications, functionality aesthetics, and manufacturability are met.\nDesign detailed mechanical components, development fixtures, and assemblies of NPI projects.\nConduct Feasibility Analysis (FA) of new customer product requirement.\nDevelop, improve, and optimize processes that use a variety of semiconductor packaging, electrical, and mechanical process methods.\nTechnical contributor within the development team.\nProvide data, reports, and documentation as needed to communicate progress and archive technical development.\nCollaborate / coordinate with members of the technical staff and other departments.\nProcess FMEA plans.\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\nBS degree in mechanical engineering, physics, material science, or related field is required.\nMinimum of two years' experience working on mechanical engineering projects.\nInnovative and be able to introduce new ideas to meet customer design solutions.\nStrong skill set in mechanical design using AutoCAD and Solid works 3D CAD software.\nFamiliar with Agile design release process and solid background about probe card business is a plus.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate as a team member as required.\nA self-starter, capable of working with little direction or supervision.\nExperience with Excel, JMP, and other programs effectively manipulating data and presenting results.\nComfortable using finite element analysis to solve mechanical problems.\nFamiliarity with appropriate test and measurement equipment including production wafer probes, automated probers, and tester platforms.\nBackground in product structure, BOMs, ePDM, and MRP systems.\nBackground in Probe card design and Electrical/Electronics is a plus.\nProficient in most common PC based applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PPT, MSProject, and the like).\nThe pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $90,500 and $118,755. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
