This role involves creating and maintaining scalable database architectures, developing complex SQL and PL/pgSQL code, and optimizing database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis. The engineer will manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including replication, failover, backup, and recovery processes, while ensuring database scalability and reliability. Daily the individual will work closely with application development, data engineering, and business teams to support data integration initiatives, ETL/ELT pipelines, and event-driven architectures. They will leverage PostgreSQL administration and monitoring tools to troubleshoot issues, maintain database health, and support migrations and upgrades. The role also includes implementing data governance and security controls, ensuring data quality, compliance, and protection of sensitive information.
