Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nAECOM is seeking a Project Engineer in Sacramento, CA.\nCandidates will be expected to work with and provide support for the on-site Construction Manager or the Senior Construction Manager and associated support team members including estimators, CEQA consultants, engineers, architects, contractors on various projects, including but not limited to, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nCreates value to the customer by developing strong working relationships; proactive thinking and actions; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; problem-solving and identifying continual improvements.\nAssists in preparation of construction monthly progress reports for presentations at team and executive session meetings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing construction data and trends.\nManages the RFI and submittal review process. Screens RFIs for errors and inconsistencies.\nMaintains project control logs including Submittal, RFIs, PCOs, COs, Owner Requested Changes, Payments, Deficiency Notices, etc. in the Project’s MIS and confirms logs with Contractor on a weekly basis.\nMaintains and distributes current contract plans and specifications to the Team. Ensures RFIs are posted and current for the Inspectors’ use.\nConfirms contractor’s maintenance of record drawings and as-builts.\nAssists in coordinating field activities with State Inspectors, including coordinating field activities with the Team, observes work in the field and assists DGS’ Inspectors as necessary, and assists DGS inspectors to prepare and manage Deficiency Notices.\nDevelops Owner estimates for proposed change orders (PCOs), prepares PCO documentation, and provides evaluation of Contractor proposals when requested.\nReviews and provide comments on Contractor’s monthly schedule updates.\nMonitors the response time for the Owner’s (Action) submittal reviews and facilitate prompt closure to all open items.\nMonitors the response time for the Owner’s RFI reviews and facilitate prompt closure to all open items.\nAssists in preparing meeting minutes.\nAssists in processing pay applications.\nAssists in coordinating site access and traffic management.\nAssists in monitoring Contactor compliance with the EIR MMRP requirements.\nAssists in Punchlist coordination and Owner activities.\nAssists in the coordination of start-up and contract closeout activities.\nPrepares weekly Contingency and RFC/Submittal Exception Reports.\nDocuments, updates, monitors and reports on project costs and trends against project contingencies.\nAssists in the review of pay applications for accuracy before forwarding to CDCR for approval.\nCollects information from the CMs and Field Managers on each project in the field.\nOther duties as directed.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience and/or education.\nDue to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.\nValid U.S. Driver’s License.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDemonstrate experience and knowledge in project scheduling, estimating (with Means or Saylor or similar manuals), technical report writing, developing technical scopes of work and change order control processing.\nWith knowledge in working with construction MIS such as Prolog, ConstructWare or similar systems.\nDemonstrate proactive critical thinking skills.\nExcellent communication skills (written and verbal).\nAbility to use working knowledge of the working environment to meet established goals and objectives.\nEligible to obtain CDCR security clearance for access to active correctional facilities, if required.\nSuperior knowledge in MS Office Professional Suite, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Primavera Scheduling Software, and SharePoint.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available for this position now or in the future.\nMotor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.\nAbout AECOM\nAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
