This individual will act as the primary controls authority on-site and will be responsible for all automation projects and support activities the customer assigns.\nThis is a fast-paced, high-ownership role requiring strong technical expertise, urgency, and the ability to work independently while representing our company directly to the customer. The majority of work involves conveyor systems, ASRS equipment, and material handling automation.\nRequired Work Schedule:\nNight Shift 6PM to 6AM\n2-2-3 biweekly schedule (2 days on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off)\nEvery other weekend is required.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the lead and primary controls engineer embedded at a customer site.\nOwn and execute all automation and controls projects assigned by the customer.\nDesign, program, debug, and support PLC-based control systems for conveyor and ASRS equipment.\nTroubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems to minimize downtime and improve performance.\nDevelop, maintain, and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA systems.\nConfigure and integrate motion control systems, including servo motors, VFDs, and drives.\nSupport commissioning, startups, upgrades, and system modifications.\nCreate, review, and interpret electrical schematics and field wiring documentation.\nProgram and troubleshoot robotic systems (FANUC preferred).\nWork with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet.\nEnsure systems comply with applicable industrial safety standards (ISO 13849, NFPA 79, UL 508A).\nCollaborate with customer stakeholders, mechanical engineers, electricians, and internal project teams.\nProvide clear technical communication and documentation to both the customer and internal teams.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nStrong proficiency in PLC programming, primarily Allen‑Bradley and Siemens TIA portal.\nExtensive experience with conveyor systems, ASRS, or material handling automation.\nExperience with motion control systems, including servos, VFDs.\nSolid understanding of industrial sensors (photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, ultrasonic).\nAbility to read, modify, and create electrical schematics.\nAdvanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live production environments.\nExperience integrating machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, IRVision).\nKnowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols:\nEtherNet/IP\nModbus\nProfibus / DeviceNet\nNo Travel required for this job\nNice-to-Have Skills\nRobotic programming experience (FANUC).\nSCADA development experience (Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware).\nExperience with SQL databases for industrial data collection.\nFamiliarity with Python or C# for automation scripting.\nExperience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.\nExposure to Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 initiatives.\nBackground in manufacturing, packaging, logistics, or distribution automation.\nWork Environment & Expectations\nThis role is primarily on-site at the customer facility as an embedded engineer.\nYou will function as a trusted technical partner to the customer.\nNo travel\nA strong sense of urgency, ownership, and professionalism is essential.\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary Range: $95,000 – $140,000 per year (based on experience)\nFull-time, salaried position\nBenefits Include:\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance starting the 1st of the month after hire\nHealth Savings Account (HSA) option\nGenerous paid time off (vacation and sick leave)\nPaid holidays\n401(k) retirement savings plan\nOngoing professional development opportunities\nWhy Join Us\nWe value teamwork, accountability, and technical excellence.
