Working closely with engineers, SMEs, and government stakeholders, the Curriculum Developer will translate complex technical requirements into effective instructor-led and hands-on training solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive training curricula supporting aircraft and ground system upgrades.\n\nCreate Familiarization (FAM) and Type I training programs for flight crews, mission crews, maintenance personnel, software maintenance personnel, and ground support personnel.\n\nDesign instructor-led, hands-on, and blended-learning training solutions.\n\nDevelop learning objectives, lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, presentations, practical exercises, and assessments.\n\nEnsure courseware accurately reflects system functionality, operational procedures, maintenance requirements, and configuration baselines.\n\nConduct courseware reviews at established program milestones and incorporate stakeholder feedback into final training products.\n\nTranslate avionics engineering documentation into effective learning materials.\n\nDevelop training for UHF/VHF/HF communications systems, ARC-210 radios SATURN communications capabilities, secure voice and cryptographic systems, mission computing interfaces, ground support systems, installation and checkout procedures, and software support and mission planning tools.\n\nDevelop and maintain the Training System Implementation Plan (TSIP).\n\nIdentify target audiences, prerequisites, training requirements, resource needs, and delivery methods.\n\nCoordinate training schedules and readiness activities with government and contractor stakeholders.\n\nConduct training needs analyses and training impact assessments.\n\nSupport program reviews and customer briefings as required.\n\nCollaborate with technical writers and engineering teams to ensure alignment between training products and technical orders (TOs).\n\nSupport Technical Order reviews, certification, verification, and updates.\n\nEnsure all courseware remains synchronized with technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and software releases.\n\nDeliver classroom and practical instruction when required.\n\nFacilitate training workshops and train-the-trainer sessions.\n\nConduct course evaluations and analyze performance metrics.\n\nImplement continuous improvement processes for training effectiveness and operational readiness.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Aviation Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Technical Communications, or a related technical discipline.\n\nEquivalent military and industry experience may be substituted.\n\nExperience\n\n9+ years of curriculum development experience.\n\n5+ years supporting military aviation, avionics, or aerospace programs.\n\nExperience developing technical training for aircraft systems, communications systems, or mission systems.\n\nExperience developing maintenance and operator training.\n\nExperience working with engineering drawings, technical data packages, system specifications, and technical manuals.\n\nExperience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, Navy, Army, or Foreign Military Sales programs.\n\nExperience developing instructor-led and hands-on training solutions.\n\nExcellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills.\n\nExperience with AWACS, ISR, C2, airborne communications, or large aircraft mission systems.\n\nCompensation - Salary\n\nAt Fairwinds, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location and experience.
