They work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop creative interior space solutions that meet customer needs. This includes engaging with customers to gather project information, and performing field verifications, space planning, furniture and material selections, product specification, and quality assurance.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nDesign and Production\nWork closely with project team to qualify aesthetic, performance, budget, and schedule criteria to meet customer’s project goals.\nEngage with customer to clarify project information and uncover customer challenges.\nWork within strategic service level agreement deadlines; quickly and efficiently.\nConduct product research in support of projects and requests to find appropriate furniture solutions, accessories, fabric, and finish approvals to meet specific budget, lead-time, functional and aesthetic requirements.\nProduce and present design concepts to customers.\nObtain customer approvals for all design development packets prior to commencing final specifications.\nPerform field measurements and inventories of existing product and incorporate into project design deliverables.\nSpecify furniture required per final furniture layouts and selected finishes.\nProduce/revise furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specification, and installation drawings.\nDevelop validation packages and spreadsheets.\nEstimate budgetary hours and manage and monitor project hours.\nCollaborate with outsourced design service providers as needed, ensuring complete and accurate information and direction is provided.\nIndustry Knowledge\nParticipate in ongoing learning around strategic areas of focus, including partner products and solutions, sustainable design, design tools and technology, and workplace strategy.\nInsidesource Core Responsibilities\nExemplify Insidesource values of Team First, Client Led, Change Makers, Experience Focused.\nParticipate in All Company Meetings and Regional Town Halls.\nEmbody diversity, equity, and inclusion in our Insider community and business practices.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNone.\nSkills, Knowledge, Experience Required\n2+ years of experience in a Dealership or A&D firm.\nPrior dealership or experience with systems furniture products a plus.\nStrong knowledge of interior design field and current practices.\nStrong knowledge of workplace trends (aesthetic, ergonomics, technology integration, workplace culture, etc.)\nStrong working knowledge of commercial furniture vendors, including features/benefits, pricing, application and assembly, specification options, and nomenclature.\nStrong presentation skills and ability to facilitate design development activities with client and client’s project team. Ability to present using live design in person or over virtual meetings.\nUnderstanding of contract furniture processes, including specification development, order preparation, project management, order management, and delivery/installation.\nAbility to communicate effectively with internal dealership sales, project management, account coordination, procurement, and operations/installation groups, client, contractor and subcontractor trades, A&D firms, electricians and client’s IT group, etc.\nKnowledge and understanding of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.\nAutoCAD 2018 experience required; CET and CAP 2020 Worksheet strongly preferred, or willingness to learn quickly.\nProficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and web-support applications.\nNCIDQ or CIDA accreditation preferred.\nUnderstanding of the complexities and sophistication required to thrive in the dealer environment.\nFluid interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of customers, vendors, personnel, and departments.\nAbility to see the big picture and integrate into day-to-day tasks and activities.\nExcellent and effective oral and written communication.\nPrior experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong organizational and administrative skills.\nDemonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in business transactions, and to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.\n\nAcknowledgement\nThis job description is designed to outline the essential job functions and qualifications of this position.
