Assists with Medication onboarding and training processes, audits medication room records, and ensures accurate documentation. Maintains medication room compliance and timeliness of services by applying medical knowledge and sound clinical judgment.\nResponsibilities and duties:\nAssist the Medication Services Manager in auditing medication room records routinely and as needed to ensure compliance and identify training needs.\nSupport LVN onboarding and training processes as directed by the Manager.\nMaintain medication room compliance and accuracy under the Manager’s guidance.\nWork with Lead Psychiatrist to coordinate and process all medication consents.\nCoordinate prescriptions from Lead Psychiatrist and outside providers with the pharmacy.\nClarify prescriptions and doctor orders as needed.\nSupport prescription refill shortage resolution with pharmacy, Lead Psychiatrist, and outside providers.\nAssists in distinguishing prescriptions from outside providers versus Psychiatrist and determine which to follow.\nMonitor medication management technology system (QuickMAR) for accuracy and provide support to the Medication Department for inquiries.\nUpdate all prescriptions from outside providers in the Electronic Health Record (Harmony).\nCoordinate and monitor prior authorizations for non-covered prescriptions among Lead Psychiatrist, insurance, and pharmacy.\nCoordinate and monitor all lab needs for clients; report abnormal results promptly.\nOrder and assist in the coordination of all injections for all sites, including private clients.\nArrange prescriptions and required labs for clients.\nConfirm prescription accuracy for admissions and provide required documentation for discharges.\nMonitor weekly medication dispensing, medication changes, and MAR accuracy/discrepancies.\nOrder all needed medication refills for clients.\nProvide medication support services to clients as needed.\nWork with residences and counties on admissions and discharges.\nCoordinate all primary care and specialty care for clients.\nArrange all LPS renewals with Lead Psychiatrist before court due date.\nArrange PPD for pending discharge clients; order PPD and syringes for all sites and monitor expiration dates.\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nMedication Services Coordinator\nDEPARTMENT\nClinical Services\nREPORTS TO\nMedication Services Manager\nFLSA STATUS\nNon-Exempt\nCollaborate with Human Resources to process all new employee health screens prior to or within 7 days of hire.\nAttend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training as required.\nMay require after-hours and weekend work.\nPerform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of responsibility.\nQualifications:\nDemonstrates tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment; remains calm and effective in emergency situations; and works well with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, languages, value systems, and abilities.
