ARRT(R)(CI)(VI) Advanced Special Procedures Technologist
Join a dynamic team as a Special Procedures Technologist performing invasive diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role involves operating and ensuring quality assurance of imaging equipment, film processing, and patient monitoring. You will assist as a scrub, float, and imaging technologist, contributing to the smooth daily operations of the Special Procedures section. Key Responsibilities Perform all procedures within the Special Procedures radiology section with competence and efficiency, caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Operate technical equipment skillfully and maintain quality control. Serve as a communication link between nursing staff, unit secretaries, and physicians regarding orders, scheduling, and procedure status. Assess patients, review charts and lab results, and ensure all prior imaging and safety documentation are complete. Prepare patients for procedures, answer questions within your scope, and refer others to the interventionalist. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to radiation safety, contrast administration, and infection control protocols. Document patient care accurately and manage procedure billing through computer systems. Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with methodologies, equipment, and techniques. Foster excellent patient and visitor relations using AIDET communication principles. Participate in clinical education for student technologists and quality assurance activities. Contribute to departmental performance improvement and patient satisfaction goals. Promote teamwork and effective communication within the department. Education and Experience ARRT(R) certification is required. Cardiovascular Interventional (CV) or Vascular Interventional (VI) registry required; VI registry eligible candidates have two years to obtain certification. Licenses: RT(R)(CI)(VI) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
