This position is responsible for helping to oversee the planning and implementation of an entire project from preconstruction through construction. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of an entire project from preconstruction through construction. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the project team through this process while ensuring that quality, schedule, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. Our aim is to ensure we are aware of these guiding principles and feel motivated and encouraged to continue integrating them into our daily lives\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nManagement of the preconstruction process in partnership with DEW’s estimating staff and VP of Preconstruction.\nManagement of the construction process in partnership with the Superintendent.\nReview the terms and conditions of contracts in partnership with DEW’s Corporate General Counsel.\nDevelop staffing and equipment plans, in partnership with the Superintendent, that identifies resource needs for the construction of assigned projects.\nHost project meetings at least once a week with project teams and manage meeting minutes.\nVisit project sites at least once a week to manage issues, compare progress to schedule, assess the quality of work, and manage the relationship with the client.\nManage deadlines and push the team to ensure timeliness.\nTime management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting.\nCoordinate with the owner, design consultants, and subcontractors.\nDocument control, in partnership with the project team.\n\nJob Cost Responsibilities:\n\nInvoice approvals, vendor billings, owner billings, change order management, cost control, cost forecasting – in partnership with the project team.\nMonitor cost data and manage the profitability of projects.\nPerform job cost forecasts monthly, in partnership with the Superintendent, and present cost forecasts monthly to Management.\nProvide feedback, advice, and updates to clients regularly on the overall cost performance of their projects.\nManage cost reports produced by others (job cost reports, forecast reports, change order logs, allowance logs, contingency logs, etc.)\n\nSubcontractor/Supplier Responsibilities:\n\nFor all assigned projects, manage the procurement of materials and subcontractors.\nNegotiate subcontract terms and conditions, in partnership with DEW’s Corporate General Counsel.\nManage the subcontractor’s performance of their subcontract scope.\nManage the subcontractor’s payments.\n\nSchedule Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop master baseline schedule for all assigned projects, in partnership with the Superintendent.\nReview schedule and productivity of each project, with the Superintendent, regularly.\nUpdate the master schedule regularly.\nEach week, provide a three-week look-ahead schedule to the project team and subcontractors.\nClosely manage the procurement process of materials (contracts, submittals, fabrication time, and deliveries) to ensure that material is delivered to the project on time.\nManage the closeout of the project in a timely and complete manner.\n\nEssential Experience:\n\nExtensive project management experience in the construction industry\nExtensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling\nDemonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others\nAbility to think ahead and plan\nAbility to organize and manage multiple priorities\nProblem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level\nStrong customer orientation\nStrong computer skills\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\nStrong team player\nCommitment to company values\n\nIf you are interested in being part of an innovative and collaborative team, in a challenging and rewarding work environment, we want to hear from you!
