Overview:\nThe Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading the due diligence investigations as well as design and engineering analyses for the water and wastewater utilities to support various types of retail, commercial, industrial and residential site projects throughout regions where we do business. Projects include working with several Fortune 500 companies, as well as working with local and regional developers with varying degrees of complexity.\nResponsibilities:\nReview municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.\nPrepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.\nPrepare Conceptual Utility Plans.\nDesign of Utility Systems Design Plans.\nPrepare construction cost estimates.\nProject coordination with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application.\nPerform calculations related to pumping systems and hydraulics for various unit processes at water and wastewater facilities.\nPrepare technical reports including water and sanitary sewer reports.\nPrepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.\n4+ years’ experience in Civil Utilities Engineering.\nEngineer-In-Training (EIT) required.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license prepferred.\nValid driver’s license.\nAbility to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.\nFamiliar with the use of AutoCAD to assist in the production of site plan drawings.\nKnowledge of the planning and zoning process.\nKnowledge of Hydraulic and Stormwater Design Programs.\nDesign and drafting capabilities.\nGrading and drainage design skills.\nUtility design experience including water main extensions, gravity sewer conveyance systems, pump station and force mains.\nExperience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.\nProficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.\nProficient in the use of the following design tools for site and utility engineering\nAutoCAD Civil3D\nHydraulic Software i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.\nProficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nIndependent and critical thinking abilities.\nSuperior organizational and delegation ability.\nAbility to work and lead in a team orientated environment.\nClient management experience.\nWhat We Offer: We strive to provide a great company culture consisting of a variety of team building events: trivia nights, softball and volleyball leagues, mini golf tournaments, BBQ’s, happy hours, poker nights, catered weekly staff meetings, surfboard lending programs, and much more.
